Haus Labs recently announced a new Mini size for its PHD Lip Oil—and the brand is giving Fenty Beauty by Rihanna competition with its award-winning Triclone Skin Tech Foundation, which comes in 51 shades.
NOTE: Rihanna’s Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation now comes in 59 shades, and artists at DC Comics used the shade range as a guide in their storytelling.
The multiple Grammy-award-winning superstar-turned-beauty-entrepreneur seems to be very involved in ensuring Haus Labs lives up to her vision. The color cosmetics range includes bold colors infused with long-wearing pigments, but the makeup line is also good for your skin. Her formulas contain clean ingredients—and each ingredient is chosen based on its skincare benefit.
Triclone Skin Tech Foundation contains a strain of fermented arnica that’s proprietary to Haus Labs. “We’ve worked with a lab really closely to formulate a fermented arnica that’s 860 percent more effective than regular arnica,” she tells British Vogue. Arnica helps in calming inflammation, which contributes to aging.
Haus Labs focuses on the artistry of makeup. She tells Harper’s Bazaar, “I mean I can feel very, very inspired by the work of a makeup artist that specializes in beauty makeup, and I also can be completely floored and wowed by a makeup artist that is more editorial, and more fashion,” she said.
She added, “You can do your makeup however you want; we just want you to feel free to be yourself.”
Talking to British Vogue about why she started Haus Labs, she said, “The world doesn’t necessarily need another beauty brand, but if we can create something that is pushing the boundaries of what it means to make makeup, then it’s worth it.”
