Indiana basketball is dealing with as much roster turnover as any team in college basketball this offseason following the coaching change from Mike Woodson to Darian DeVries. There are not any returning scholarship players on the Indiana basketball roster, so DeVries will build his first Indiana basketball lineup from the college basketball transfer portal. He has already picked up four commitments from the portal, giving him a strong foundation early in the offseason. However, there are still plenty of college basketball transfers that Indiana is targeting.
The five-time national champions have not made the Final Four since 2002 and have not advanced to the Sweet 16 since 2016. DeVries and the Indiana basketball coaching staff are trying to bring the program back to glory in the coming years, which starts with finding the right Indiana basketball transfers from the portal. Indiana basketball roster news
The first addition for DeVries was his son, Tucker, who played three seasons at Drake before transferring to West Virginia last year. He only played eight games for the Mountaineers under his father before a shoulder injury forced him to miss the rest of the campaign. The forward averaged 14.9 points per game on 47.3% shooting in limited action in Morgantown.
DePaul’s Conor Enright, Davidson’s Reed Bailey and Sam Houston State’s Lamar Wilkerson have all committed to Indiana as well. Wilkerson averaged 20.5 points per game last season, and the Hoosiers were able to beat out teams like Kentucky, Auburn and Florida in his recruitment. Other players DeVries is in contact with include North Florida shooting guard Jasai Miles and Louisiana State forward Tyrell Ward. Get the latest Indiana basketball roster news at Peegs.com.
